Secondary school students are designated by their schools to participate in the National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) and engage in a four-year educational program. This curriculum covers fundamental aspects of policing and law enforcement, adventure training, and character development.
NPCC cadets progress through the ranks throughout this period, reflecting their increasing proficiency. This progression allows them to take on leadership roles, guiding junior cadets in refining their skill sets.
Upon completing the four-year commitment as an NPCC cadet, individuals have acquired valuable experiences in leadership through various opportunities. Some may further contribute to the Corps by volunteering as Cadet Inspectors, extending their NPCC journey.

Cadet Inspectors (CIs) are youth leaders selected to support Teacher Officers and Honorary Officers in implementing NPCC trainings and programs. They actively participate in both classroom and field training for cadets, gaining practical experience to become influential youth leaders in the community.
During a 2-week training at Home Team Academy, which includes a 3-day camp at Camp Resilience on Pulau Ubin, trainees are equipped with the skills needed. Trained Cadet Inspectors then assist teacher officers in managing and training cadets in various aspects of the NPCC curriculum, encompassing skills like CSI, drills, campcraft, marksmanship, organisational skills, and more. Upon recommendation from the OC Unit, the Cadet Inspector may be promoted to Senior Cadet Inspector.

Trainees acquire essential hard and soft skills during a 1-week non-residential training at Home Team Academy and a mandatory 3-day 2-night residential training camp at Camp Resilience on Pulau Ubin. This training prepares Honorary Officers to effectively assist Teacher Officers at their respective NPCC school units.
